Vol. 11 No. 8

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - COMPENSATION CLAIM (COUNTY KERRY).

asked the Minister for Finance whether a claim for compensation has been received from Dr. Michael Lawlor, of Brandon View, Ardfert, Co. Kerry, for a motor car commandeered by Irish Volunteers on the 21st May, 1921, and for which a decree for £273 9s. 6d. was granted by Judge Cusack in Tralee on October 13th, 1921, and if so, whether he can say how soon payment will be made to Dr. Lawlor.

Enquiry has been made at the offices of the Compensation (Ireland) Commission, but the claim referred to by the Deputy cannot be traced. From the particulars given, the claim would appear to be one for consideration by the Committee appointed under the Indemnity Act, 1924, but there is no record of the receipt of such a claim although the last day for receiving claims of this nature was, as announced in the public Press, 1st November, 1924.
