Vol. 11 No. 8

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - THE NICHOLSON ESTATE, KELLS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether it is the intention of the Land Commission to give preference to the employees on the Nicholson Estate, Balrath, Kells, Co. Meath, when this estate is being divided; if he will state when the division of said lands will take place; also whether the Jonesboro' Estate, Carnaross, Kells, Co. Meath, has been acquired for distribution amongst deserving workers and uneconomic holders living on and near the estate, and whether he can state when such distribution will take place.

Mr. HOGAN

The Commissioners are in negotiation with the owner for the purchase of certain lands on the Nicholson Estate, but until these negotiations have been completed the Commissioners are not in a position to state when the lands may be divided. The employees of the estate will be considered by the Commissioners in any distribution of the lands.

With regard to the lands of Jonesborough, the Commissioners have made the owner an offer to purchase which he has accepted, and the lands will be allotted as soon as possible.
