Vol. 11 No. 14

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ARMY PENSIONS: PROMISED LEGISLATION.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he can state when the promised Bill granting pensions to men who have been discharged owing to disease contracted on military service will be introduced.

I regret that I am not in a position to state definitely when the Bill will be introduced. It is still under consideration with special reference to its financial aspect.

Is the Minister aware that that answer was given when the President was Minister for Defence? Has the Minister himself done nothing to expedite the Bill?

The question was fully discussed last night in the absence of the Deputy.

And an equally unsatisfactory answer given.
