Vol. 11 No. 14

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CLAIM FOR ARREARS OF PAY (CO. KERRY).

SEAMUS O CRUADHLAOICH

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state why the claim made by ex-Sergeant Michael O'Gorman, Tarbert, Co. Kerry, for arrears of pay in respect of his services in the National Army from March 6th, 1922, to April 16th, 1922, has not been paid, and if he is aware that it is stated that other persons have been paid for services rendered during or about the same period.

Mr. O'Gorman's claim was disallowed on the ground that it is not practicable to entertain applications for arrears of pay in respect of services stated to have been rendered prior to the dates of attestation. Mr. O'Gorman attested on the 17th April, 1922. I regret that his claim, which is in respect of a previous period, has, therefore, to be disallowed. He was so informed on the 23rd ultimo.
