Vol. 11 No. 20

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - REPORT OF P. O. COMMISSION.

asked the President whether he has received the final report of the Post Office Commission of Enquiry; if he will state when it will be published; whether the Report has been considered, and, if so, what decision has been reached.

The final report of the Commission of Enquiry into the Post Office has been received and will shortly be presented to both Houses of the Oireachtas, after which it will be available for publication. The Executive Council have decided to accede to the request of the members of the Commission that they should be relieved from further service, and each of the members has been so informed.

Can the President say whether the recommendations of the Commission have been approved of by the Executive Council?

I think I would be better able to answer that question to the satisfaction of the Deputy when the report is laid before the Oireachtas. I might say, however, that in part at any rate, some of the recommendations have been accepted.
