Vol. 11 No. 22

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - SOLDIERS' GRATUITY CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Defence if the claim for gratuity by Volunteer Peter Loakman, No. 14253, formerly of the 48th Battalion, quartered at Navan, on account of injuries received through the overturning of a lorry on October 12th, 1922, while on dispatch duty, will be favourably considered.

The Medical Board which examined Mr. Loakman on the 15th January last were unable to certify that he was suffering from any disability which would warrant the payment of a gratuity under the provisions of the Army Pensions Act, 1923. I am not, therefore, in a position to authorise any award in his case.
