Vol. 12 No. 9

ADAPTATION OF CHARTERS BILL, 1925.—FIRST STAGE.

I beg to move for leave to introduce the "Adaptation of Charters Bill," 1925.

The Adaptation of Enactments Act, 1922, and Article 73 of the Constitution, which include not alone statutes, but also a great number of charters, are, of themselves, insufficient to enable us to pass the necessary orders or regulations which are essential in the case of charters under certain circumstances. It is with a view to remedying that particular infirmity that I ask for leave to introduce this Bill.

Question—"That leave be given to introduce the Bill"—put and agreed to.
Bill read a first time.
Second Stage ordered for Tuesday, 23rd June, 1925.
