Vol. 13 No. 12

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - TRALEE HOUSE OWNER'S CLAIM.

SEAMUS O CRUADHLAOICH

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that a claim for £40 in respect of the occupation of and damage to a house whilst occupied by National troops, and situate at the Spa, Tralee, was made by Miss Sarah Cain, of Listowel, in 1923, has not been paid, and that Miss Cain was informed by the Claims Officer, Portobello Barracks, where she attended on June 16th, 1923, that her claim was under investigation; if he is further aware that nothing has since been heard of the claim, and if he will see that payment is made in this case.

I am aware of Mrs. Cain's claim. It was thought that it might be included in another claim made by her under the Damage to Property (Compensation) Act, 1923, for the destruction of her house by Irregulars. I am arranging to have it dealt with now as quickly as possible.
