Vol. 13 No. 15

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ACQUISITION OF KILDARE ESTATE.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will state what progress has been made by the Land Commission in the acquisition of the lands of the Morristown-Billar, Taylor, estate, Co. Kildare, and if he can state when these lands will be divided.

The lands of Morristown-Billar, on the estate of William Taylor, Co. Kildare, were published in the Provisional Lists of lands which, if not excluded in consequence of valid objection, would vest in the Land Commission on the appointed day. The owner objected to the proposed acquisition of the lands and his objection has not yet been disposed of.

Will the Minister say when this objection will be disposed of? The Land Commission has this estate in hands a long time, and the congests in the neighbourhood are anxiously looking forward to the division of the farm.

Mr. HOGAN

The lands were purchased under the 1923 Act and are actually gazetted. I cannot say how long it will take to dispose of the objections, because that depends on the nature of the objections. As a rule, objections do not take more than two or three months to dispose of.
