Vol. 13 No. 15

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - VESTING OF BALLA LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether he is aware that Walter Brennan and John Dunne, of Rathduff, Balla, Co. Mayo, tenants on the late Lynch-Blosse Estate, signed the usual purchase agreements over five years ago; that they are since paying £1 17s. 6d. per annum above their annuity, and that their holdings are not yet vested; and if he will state when those lands will be vested, and if the money paid over and above the annuities will be refunded.

Mr. HOGAN

The advances applied for by the two tenants referred to on the Lynch-Blosse Estate have been sanctioned, and it is anticipated that the holdings will be vested in the purchasers during the present month. In their purchase agreements these tenants contracted to pay to the Irish Land Commission, pending the vesting of the lands and the making of the advances applied for, interest at the rate of 3½ per cent. on the purchase money and no refund can be made.
