Vol. 13 No. 15

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - CO. CAVAN COMPENSATION CLAIMS.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state what stage has been reached in the hearing of the compensation claims of Ernie McDonald, Virginia; Dr. Thomas Burke, Shercock; Patrick Smith, Ballinagh, and Charles McCabe, Cavan, before the Committee set up under the Indemnity Act, 1924, and when awards may be expected and payments made.

There is no trace of the claim on behalf of Ernie McDonald and further particulars should be supplied. The claims of Dr. Thomas Burke and Charles McCabe have been considered and will be disposed of at an early date. The claim of Patrick Smith would not appear to have come to the notice of the Committee until April last, and subject to proof of its having been lodged with a Government Department before the 1st of November, 1924, will be considered in due course.
