Vol. 14 No. 12

PUBLIC BUSINESS. - VOTE 37—GENERAL REGISTER OFFICE.

I move:—

Go ndeontar Suim Bhreise ná raghaidh thar Deich bPúint chun íoctha an mhuirir a thiocfidh chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar chríochan 31adh lá de Mhárta, 1926, chun Tuarastail agus Costaisí Roinn Ard-Chlárathóra na mBeireataisí, etc. (7 & 8 Vict., c. 81, a.54; 26 Vict., c.11, a9; 26 and 27 Vict., c. 52, a.11 agus c.90, a 20; 42 and 43 Vict., c. 70; agus 43 agus 44 Vict., c. 13).

That a Supplementary Sum not exceeding £10 be granted to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1926, for the Salaries and Expenses of the Department of the Registrar-General of Births, etc. (7 and 8 Vict., c.81, a.54; 26 Vict., c.11. a.9; 26 and 27 Vict., c.52, a.11 and c.90, a.20; 42 and 43 Vict., c.70; and 43 and 44 Vict., c.13).

Could the Minister say if this sum of £690—Appropriation in Aid—is the total income to meet the £700?

There is a great deal more than that.

Why is that not shown here?

Because we could not ask for the Supplementary Estimate then.

But, surely, if in another Department there is a production in excess of what is shown here, that production ought to be shown by way of a footnote or in some other way?

We do not know what the exact figure is at the moment.

That is what I do not like in connection with the Estimates here, and I have expressed that view before.

Vote put and agreed to.
Ordered: That the Resolution be reported to the Dáil on Friday, 26th February.
