Vol. 14 No. 14

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - WELSTED ESTATE (CO. CORK).

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether he will state if the lands on the Welsted Estate, Castletownroche, Cork, recently acquired by the Land Commission for the relief of congests and landless men, have been let out for grazing purposes; whether he will state the reasons for such letting; whether it will be possible to place those to whom the lands have been already allotted in possession immediately at a reasonable rent per acre pending the final stages of acquisition and so enable those persons to take advantage of the spring season to put in their crops.

Mr. HOGAN

Pending the completion of the requirements of the statutes applicable to the lands being complied with, a scheme for their division cannot be put into operation, and in the meantime they have been let temporarily for grazing.
