Vol. 14 No. 17

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - DELIVERY OF FURNITURE.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is aware that the duty on two crates of furniture consigned by Messrs. Doyle, of Shoreditch, London, to Messrs. Henry Lyons and Company, Sligo, was paid by the British and Irish Steam Packet Company on Wednesday, March 10th, but that the goods in question were not transferred to the Great Southern Railway for transmission to Sligo until Monday, March 15th, and if he can explain the reason for this delay.

Duty was paid as stated on the 10th March. The furniture was examined and cleared out of Customs charge on the following day at 2 p.m. Any inquiries as to the cause of any delay which may have occurred subsequently should be addressed to the carrying companies concerned.
