Vol. 14 No. 18

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - VERSCHOYLE ESTATE (CO. KILDARE).

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he is aware that on the division of part of the Verschoyle estate at Cloney, Co. Kildare, the persons between whom the lands were divided were guaranteed that two new roads would be made and one existing road would be repaired; that this work was begun but was abandoned unfinished in September, 1925, leaving the new occupiers in a most difficult position as regards facilities for working their lands and traffic generally, and if he will direct that this necessary work be completed at once.

The work on the roads on the Verschoyle estate was discontinued last September owing to the state of the ground and the consequent heavy cost of cartage. It will be resumed at an early date.

Has the ground not improved owing to the fine weather? Could the work not be resumed now?

Mr. HOGAN

I would want to be on the ground to judge that. The work will be resumed at an early date.
