CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CASH ON DELIVERY SYSTEM.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he can state the number of postal packets delivered under the cash on delivery system in the Saorstát in the years 1924 and 1925, respectively, together with the amount of money collected on these parcels in each year, and the revenue derived by the Post Office therefrom.

During the year 1924, 2,858 inland cash-on-delivery parcels were delivered in An Saorstát. The trade charges collected amounted to £2,600, and the Post Office revenue to £130.

During 1925 there were 5,050 such parcels, the trade charges collected amounting to £4,500, and the Post Office revenue to £155.
