Vol. 15 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CO. KILDARE POSTAL FACILITIES.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the new motor service between Kilcock and Coolcarrigan, Co. Kildare, obliges the people to post letters two hours earlier than under the previous arrangement, thus entailing considerable inconvenience, and whether he will look into the matter.

Generally the new motor service has resulted in an improvement in the postal arrangements of the districts served by it. The dispatches are, however, made earlier in two instances by 35 minutes and 1 hour 15 minutes, but against that there are earlier arrivals at the offices affected by 1 hour and 15 minutes respectively. In no case is the interval between arrival and dispatch less than six hours, and in the circumstances it is not considered that any public inconvenience can have arisen from the new arrangements.
