Vol. 15 No. 3

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - ACCOMMODATION FOR GARDA SIOCHANA IN WESTMEATH.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Justice whether he is aware that the Gárda Síochána stationed in Mount-temple, Moate, Westmeath, have neither suitable accommodation nor sanitary accommodation in the present house occupied by them, and if it is intended to have the old R.I.C. Barracks, situated at Carn, Mount-temple, re-built.

The house occupied by the Gárda Síochána at Mount-temple is quite suitable as a station, and it is not true to say that it contains no sanitary accommodation. The State has no interest in the site of the former R.I.C. barracks, and it is understood that the owner does not intend to re-build.
