Vol. 15 No. 12

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - REFUNDING UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE CONTRIBUTIONS.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether representations have been made to his Department by the Department of Posts and Telegraphs regarding the refunding of unemployment insurance contributions to learners in that Department, and if he will state whether a decision has yet been arrived at.

Applications for the refund of the value of contributions paid under the Unemployment Insurance Acts in respect of different grades of civil servants employed in the Department of Posts and Telegraphs, have been received. A decision is not possible until some further particulars have been received from the Department in question, but I am informed that these particulars are being prepared.

In view of the fact that some of the officers qualified in examinations as long ago as eighteen months, will the Minister consider the question of giving an early decision when particulars are received?

There will be no delay in giving a decision when particulars are received.
