CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CO. MEATH LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire the lands of Commons, Bawn, Kilcarn and Williamstown, Navan, Co. Meath, and if he can state the cause of the delay in acquiring the said lands for the relief of the congestion around Navan.

Mr. HOGAN

The Land Commission are in negotiation with the owner for the purchase of the lands of Williamstown or Bawn, County Meath, comprising 262 acres 2 roods 21 perches, which are subject to a land purchase annuity.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether he will state what steps, if any, have been taken by the Land Commission to acquire the lands of Princetown, Ardcath, Garristown, County Meath, and if he will state when the said lands will be allotted to local congests and others around Princetown.

The Land Commission are having the lands of Princetown inspected.

The lands of Garristown, on the estate of J.H. Nicholson, have been vested in the Land Commission, and the lands have been divided.

The lands of Ardcath cannot be identified as being the subject of proceedings under the Land Purchase Acts.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether he will state when the Land Commission proposes to acquire the lands of Mullaghboy, De Bathe Estate, Kilmainham Wood, County Meath, and if he will state the cause of the delay in dealing with this estate.

Mr. HOGAN

A rental to enable the Land Commission to collect compounded arrears of rent and payment in lieu of rent, has been lodged in respect of the De Bathe Estate, but the schedule of particulars to enable the purchase of the estate to be proceeded with has not yet been lodged.
