Vol. 15 No. 21

WRITTEN ANSWER. - MILITARY SERVICE CERTIFICATE.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the cause of the delay in granting a military certificate to Michael J. Lyons, Moat View, Pakenhamhall Road, Castlepollard, Co. Westmeath (No. 56725), who attested at Galway on the 1st October, 1922, and who was demobilised from Collins Barracks, Cork, on the 14th February, 1926; and if he is aware that this applicant has been recommended by several officers, who are prepared to testify as to the pre-Truce services rendered by him from 1915, and whether he will have investigations expedited in this case.

The application of Mr. Michael Lyons for a certificate of military service in accordance with the terms of the Military Service Pensions Act, 1924, has been referred to the Board of Assessors constituted under the Act. The Board has not yet reported to me in his case.
