Vol. 16 No. 20

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - WILMOTT SMITH ESTATE (CO. LIMERICK).

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will state what stage has been reached in regard to the vesting of the Wilmott Smith Estate, Ballynanty, Co. Limerick, and if he can give any information as to the date of the division of the said estate.

The lands of Ballynanty, comprising 430a. 3r. 27p., on the estate of Wilmott Smith, have been included in a provisional list of lands which, if not excluded in consequence of a valid objection, would be vested in the Land Commission on the appointed day. The owner objected to the acquisition of the lands, and this objection was heard by the Commissioners and disallowed by them. On appeal by the owner to the Judicial Commissioner, the decision of the Land Commission was upheld. The price of the lands, in default of agreement, was then fixed by the Land Commission. The owner has appealed on the question of price and the appeal was heard by the Judicial Commissioner, who has reserved judgment. A scheme for the division of the lands cannot be settled until the price has been fixed.
