Vol. 17 No. 7

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - PROPOSED ACQUISITION OF AN OFFALY ESTATE.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he could state the present position of the Land Commission in connection with the proposed acquisition and division of the estate of Messrs. Hurst and Orr, Ballyclare, Ferbane, Offaly.

Mr. HOGAN

The Land Commission instituted proceedings for the acquisition of the untenanted lands in the possession of William Orr (trustee of A. Bagnall, deceased), Ballyclare, Offaly, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923. These lands have been let for grazing by the owner, and the Land Commission are in negotiation with him as to the date on which possession thereof can be handed over to them.
