CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CO. GALWAY LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether it is the intention of the Land Commission to divide among the uneconomic holders in the neighbourhood, the tenanted lands occupied by Mrs. E. Pye, on the estate of Dr. Foreman, in the townland of Ardagh, Co. Galway, which are at present being used as a grazing ranch, and if not, whether he will give the reasons for its being retained as a grazing ranch.

Mr. HOGAN

The Provisional List for this estate was published on the 24th August last.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will state what steps, if any, the Land Commission have taken or intend to take, with a view to purchasing for division among the uneconomic holders in the neighbourhood, the lands of Mrs. Collins, Killeroran, on the Bagot Estate, Ballygar, Co. Galway.

Mr. HOGAN

The lands referred to were purchased by Mrs. Collins as tenant-purchaser under the Land Purchase Acts and are subject to a land purchase annuity.

The Commissioners are not prepared to take any action at present with a view to the acquisition of these lands.
