Vol. 18 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - RE-OPENING OF CO. KILDARE SCHOOL.

asked the Minister for Education if he had received the report of the Inspector who visited recently the disused school premises at Old Grange, Narraghmore, Co. Kildare, a request for the re-opening of which has been made locally; if the report is of a favourable character; and if so, if steps will be taken to give effect to it by re-establishing the school, the want of which is felt locally.

I have received a report from the Inspector on the question of the restoration of grants to the school at Old Grange, Narraghmore, County Kildare, in the school house formerly used as a National school, and I am prepared to consider favourably the request for the re-establishment of this school.

Certain further inquiries are, however, necessary before a final decision is reached.

Will that inquiry be made at once?

When the Minister says it will be considered favourably, does he mean that he agrees to open the school?

On the whole, yes, unless circumstances that I am now unaware of crop up in the course of the inquiry.
