Vol. 18 No. 5

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - A DISALLOWED CLAIM.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state for what reason the claim (E.B. 97643) of Mrs. Sarah Coffey, Clonmellon, County Westmeath, to unemployment insurance benefit has been disallowed.

A claim to unemployment insurance benefit made by Mrs. Sarah Coffey, Clonmellon, in February, 1926, was referred to the Court of Referees under Section 11 (4) of the Unemployment Insurance Act, 1920, for a recommendation as to whether the claimant was unemployed within the meaning of the Unemployment Insurance Act. Having considered the case the Court of Referees recommended that the claim should be disallowed under Section 7 (1) (ii) of the Act on the ground that the claimant was not unemployed. The Insurance Officer accepted the recommendation of the Court and accordingly benefit cannot be paid on that claim.
