Vol. 18 No. 6

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - REPAYMENT OF OLD AGE PENSIONS.

asked the Minister for Finance if persons awarded the old age pension, and in respect of whose ages the evidence submitted was afterwards discovered to be unsatisfactory, can be called upon to refund moneys received from the British Treasury before the ratification of the Treaty; and, if so, if he will state the law under which the Revenue Commissioners demand repayment.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative; as regards the second part of the question, I would refer the Deputy to Section 9 (2) of the Old Age Pensions Act, 1908, and Articles 73 and 80 of the Constitution.
