Vol. 18 No. 10

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - FLOODING OF KERRY ESTATE.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he is aware that the value of the land on the Thomas Studdert estate, Co. Kerry, has deteriorated to a very considerable extent owing to tidal flooding and the neglect of embankments, and if he has received representations from the tenants on this estate in connection with the matter; if he is also aware that many of the tenants have been proceeded against for recovery of payment in lieu of rent and arrears of rent (compounded), and that owing to the prevailing conditions those tenants are unable to meet those demands, and if he will have immediate steps taken to deal with the matter.

Representations have been made to the Land Commission as to the tidal floodings and the condition of embankments on the estate of Thomas Studdert. Investigations have been made, and the matter is at present under consideration by the Commissioners.

Will the Minister see that the report of the Commissioners is made as soon as possible? I understand that this matter has been under consideration for a long time.

Mr. HOGAN

It is not exactly a report. The Commissioners are considering the matter. They do not propose to make a report, but they will give a decision as soon as possible.

What are they considering—the valuation?

Mr. HOGAN

The whole question.
