Vol. 18 No. 10

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ACQUISITION AND DIVISION OF ESTATES.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he is aware that there is a residue of 36 acres of the Dundon estate at Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare, still undivided, and if he is in a position to state how the Land Commission now proposes to deal with it.

Mr. HOGAN

The Land Commission have offered to sell the parcel containing 35a. 3r. 0p. on the estate in the townland of Cappaghlodge to the Clare County Council, as trustees under Sections 4 and 20 of the Irish Land Act, 1903, as amended by Section 18 of the Irish Land Act, 1909, and Section 69 of the Land Act, 1923, for the purpose of providing pasturage for approved householders in Sixmilebridge. There are no arrears of annuity on this land.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if the Carroll estate, Tulla, Capporoe, Nenagh, had yet been divided, and if he has received applications from John O'Brien, Michael O'Brien and Denis Flanagan, Erinagh, Capporoe, for allotments of that estate, if he is aware that those three men are uneconomic holders residing in the near neighbourhood of the estate, and are living on 19 acres of land valued at £4 15s., £5 and £4 10s. respectively; that they sent in a joint application through a solicitor to the Land Commission, but have not been interviewed by the Land Commission Inspector or notified of his attendance for the purpose of dealing with the estate, and whether the Minister will take steps to have their grievance in this respect remedied.

Mr. HOGAN

The Carroll estate referred to has not yet been divided. The cases of the three men referred to will be considered.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if the Wunne Farm Outrath New Inn, County Tipperary, has yet been acquired for the purpose of division, and, if so, if he will state when it is the intention of the Land Commission to proceed with the work of division.

Mr. HOGAN

The owner has accepted the offer of the Land Commission for purchase of the untenanted lands of Outrath containing 211a. Or. 8p. or thereabouts, but the lands have not yet been vested in the Land Commission and it is not possible to state at present when they will be divided. The offer was only accepted on the 11th.
