Vol. 18 No. 11

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ALLOWANCES TO IRISH VOLUNTEERS.

asked the Minister for Defence whether he is in possession of any Irish Volunteer records covering the period from the beginning of 1921 to February, 1922, and, if so, whether any pay or allowance was during this period forwarded by G.H.Q. to the 1st Eastern Divisional Staff, Dunboyne, for payment to Brigade O.C.s and their staffs who were giving their whole-time service to the Irish Volunteers within the 1st Eastern Divisional Command, and if he can state the amounts so forwarded.

From records in my possession it would appear that no moneys were forwarded by G.H.Q. to the 1st Eastern Divisional Staff for issue as pay and allowance to Brigade O.C.s and their staffs during the period in question.
