Vol. 18 No. 11

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ACQUISITION OF DROGHEDA ESTATE.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether the Land Commission propose acquiring the Smith estate, Beamore, Drogheda, owned by a Mr. Rooney, for distribution among local uneconomic holders and landless men.

The lands referred to comprise a holding of 237 acres, situate in the townland of Duleek Lower, held by James Rooney as tenant on the estate of Colonel Smith, Co. Meath, which is being dealt with by the Land Commission under the Land Act, 1923. The question of the retention and resumption of this holding will be considered by the Commissioners in due course.
