Vol. 18 No. 15

WRITTEN ANSWERS. - COMMANDEERED MOTOR-CAR.

asked the Minister for Defence whether repeated applications have been received from Mrs. Ellen Colleary, of Hill Street, Ballina, County Mayo, for compensation for a motor-car commandeered by an officer of the National Army on August 22nd, 1922; what action has been taken as a result of the receipt of those applications, and whether he can say when it is hoped that compensation will be paid to this lady.

Several applications were received from Mrs. Colleary for compensation in respect of a motor-car alleged to have been commandeered in August, 1922. Her claim was fully considered and it was decided that no payment on foot thereof could be made from Army Funds. Her solicitor was so informed on the 27th May, 1924.
