Vol. 18 No. 15

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CITY LIFE ASSURANCE COMPANY.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is in a position to state what portion of its liabilities the City Life Assurance Company is paying, or about to pay, to its policy holders, and what arrangements it is in the power of his Department to make with a view to safeguarding their interests.

The liquidation of this company is being conducted by the Official Receiver of the British Board of Trade. I am informed that a first dividend of 1/- in the £ was paid to the creditors on the 25th March, 1926, that a second dividend, also of 1/- in the £, will be paid on the 25th of the present month, and that still another dividend will be paid before the liquidation is brought to a close. No distinction is made between the claims of British and Irish creditors.
