Vol. 18 No. 15

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - IRISH SUMMER COURSES.

asked the Minister for Education if it is proposed to hold summer courses in Irish for teachers in primary and secondary schools this year, corresponding with the courses held last and previous years, and, if so, when a definite announcement of the arrangements may be expected.

It is proposed to hold summer courses in Irish for teachers in primary and secondary schools this year. No arrangements have yet been made regarding the scope of the courses or the conditions of attendance thereat. As soon as a decision has been reached on these matters an announcement will be made to the teachers, schools and colleges concerned.

Arising out of that answer. I do not know if the Minister can tell us how it is possible to make an estimate for the expense of this course, £25,000, when the question of the course has not been fully considered?

The Deputy has read into the answer what is not there.
