Vol. 19 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - UNSIGHTLY TELEPHONE POLES.

SEAN O LAIDHIN

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that a large number of telephone poles between Moate and Moyvouchly are a danger to the public, and very unsightly, and whether same will be put into proper repair.

The pole route in question was damaged by storm towards the end of January last and although some of the poles were slightly deflected they are not a danger to the public. Owing to pressure of more urgent work it has not so far been possible to carry out permanent repairs, but the work of overhauling the route will be undertaken as early as practicable.
