Vol. 19 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - STONEYFORD DRAINAGE WORK.

asked the Minister for Finance whether the Commissioners of Public Works have received an application for a grant from the Stoneyford Drainage Committee, County Meath, to enable it to improve the drainage in the Stoneyford drainage district, and, if so, whether he will state what steps are being taken to meet this application.

No application has been received by the Commissioners of Public Works from the Stoneyford Drainage Committee for a grant to enable them to improve the drainage of the Stoneyford Drainage District. In any case grants are not made to committees in charge of drainage districts for such purposes. A petition under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1925, for a new scheme in respect of the Ballivor River, County Meath, has been received by the Commissioners of Public Works, and arrangements have been made to have an inspection carried out by an engineer at an early date. Portion of this river is in the existing Stoneyford Drainage District, and maintainable by the Drainage Committee.
