WRITTEN ANSWERS. - COUNTY MEATH LANDS.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he can state what steps are being taken by the Land Commission to acquire lands on the estate of Mr. A. McCann at Dunboyne, County Meath, and if he will state what stage the proceedings have now reached.

Mr. HOGAN

To enable the Land Commission to get the necessary information I would be obliged if the question was repeated next week.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will direct the Land Commission to provide Mr. Patrick Fanham, Dulane, Kells, who is the representative of a tenant evicted from the Nicholson estate, with a holding on that portion of the Nicholson estate not yet allotted, and which is known as Irishtown.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will state when it is proposed to divide the Reynell estate at Lobinstown, Slane, County Meath, and if he will also state the cause of the delay in dealing with these lands.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether the lands of Mullagha, on the Rountree estate, County Meath, have been acquired, and when same will be allotted; whether it is the intention of the Land Commission to have this estate allotted to local uneconomic holders and landless men, or if it is intended to place a migrant in possession of a holding on the estate.

No scheme has yet been prepared for the division of the lands of Mullagha on the Rountree estate nor has possession been taken by the Land Commission.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if he will state what steps, if any, have been taken by the Land Commission to acquire the lands of Dangan and Readstown, on the estate of Patrick Barry, County Meath, and if he will state when these lands will be acquired.

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture whether the Land Commission have completed negotiations for the purchase of the lands of Carns and Mullateeling, on the estate of Boylan, County Meath, and if he will state when same may be allotted.

Mr. HOGAN

The lands of Mullaghteeling and Bellewstown, comprising 370a. 3r. 15p. on the Boylan estate (Rec. No. S. 3502) are the subject of proceedings for acquisition by the Land Commission under the Land Act, 1923. The Land Commission are not at present in a position to say when the sale will be completed and the lands allotted.
