Vol. 19 No. 5

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - TUCKEY ESTATE (CLARE).

asked the Minister for Lands and Agriculture if the Land Commission received from Mr. Patrick O'Loughlin, Clooney, Carrahan, County Clare, an application for a portion of the Tuckey estate in that district, and if he will state why no allotment was made to the applicant.

An application was received in the Land Commission from Patrick O'Loughlin, of Clooney, Carrahan, County Clare, for a portion of the Tuckey estate, but owing to the acute congestion prevailing in the district and the limited amount of land available the Commissioners could not see their way to provide him with a parcel of land on this estate.

Mr. HOGAN

Will the Minister convey to the Minister for Lands and Agriculture the fact that this man's grandfather, father and himself worked on the estate, and does he not consider that the man has a prior right to a portion of that estate?

According to the information of the Inspector of the Land Commission, this particular man did not work on the estate, but his brother-in-law, with whom he is living, did, and he has got a parcel of land and a house.

Mr. HOGAN

Local inquiries confirm the fact that this man's grandfather, father, and himself worked on the estate.
