Vol. 19 No. 11

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - NATIONAL MUSEUM OPENING HOURS.

asked the Minister for Education whether he has received any requests for extended hours of opening in the National Museum, and whether it has been found possible to accede to those requests.

I have received a request to have the Museum opened at an earlier hour, especially during the summer months. I find there is some difficulty in arranging for this, owing to depletion of the attendant staff and reduction in the length of the working day of the unestablished attendants. I shall give further consideration to the matter, with a view to seeing if it will be possible to fix an earlier opening hour during the summer season.

Does the Minister consider that opening hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. are unreasonable?

That is not the difficulty I had to contend with.
