Vol. 22 No. 2

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - ENFORCING OF LIQUOR LAW.

asked the Minister for Justice when it is intended to put Part IV. of the Intoxicating Liquor Act, 1927 (which deals with the reduction of licences) into operation.

No steps can be taken towards the reduction of the number of licensed premises in the Saorstát until the next Annual Licensing Sessions. It is intended to begin the process of reduction at these sessions, and the Gárda Síochána will accordingly be instructed to make applications for reference orders under the Act in a suitable number of cases.
