Vol. 22 No. 3

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - SECONDARY TEACHERS' PENSIONS.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he is yet in a position to make a statement with regard to a scheme of pensions for secondary teachers, and whether the actuarial investigation to which the Minister referred on 6th July, 1927, has been completed.

The completion of the actuarial examination has been delayed by difficulties in ascertaining details of the basic information required by the actuary. Having regard to the further delay that might be occasioned by an endeavour to clear all the points in doubt, it has been decided to proceed with the formulation of a pension scheme without waiting for the receipt of the actuary's report, and it is hoped that the instructions for preparation of the proposed necessary legislation will be given at the end of next week.
