Vol. 22 No. 5

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - LETTER DELIVERY IN CLONAKILTY.

Mr. T. MULLINS

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether, in view of the great inconvenience caused to the general public in Clonakilty by the fact that there is only one postal delivery service daily, while Bandon and Kinsale and other towns have two, the Minister can see his way to extend to Clonakilty the benefits of a postal delivery twice daily.

PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY (Mr. Heffernan)

The question of granting a second postal delivery at Clonakilty has been under consideration for some time past as a result of representations from other local Deputies and the Urban District Council. The necessary departmental inquiries have now been completed, and I hope to have a second delivery afforded to the business portion of the town at an early date.
