asked the Minister for Defence whether he will give a list of the barracks and camps now under the control of his Department, stating in each case the number of troops capable of being accommodated, and the number at present in occupation; and further, whether he will give a list of the military barracks and camps disposed of by sale by his Department since June, 1922, and the amount realised in each case, stating in each case the number of troops which could have been accommodated.
WRITTEN ANSWERS. - MILITARY BARRACKS ACCOMMODATION.
The following is a list of the barracks and camps now under the control of the Department of Defence, stating in each case the number of troops capable of being accommodated. I am unable to state the number of troops at present in occupation of these barracks and camps for the reason that the numbers change daily and that it is not in the public interest to give them.

No military barracks and camps have been disposed of by sale by the Department of Defence since June, 1922. A number of barracks surplus to military requirements have, however, been handed over to the Commissioners of Public Works, and in the cases of a few camps only surplus material in the way of huts, etc.. has been sold by the Department of Defence.
