asked the Minister for Fisheries whether he can state what is the position of the Land Commission as regards Rathcore Dias Estate, County Meath; whether he is aware that well-known evictions took place on this estate in December, 1864; and whether steps have been or will be taken to have evicted tenants reinstated.
CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - REINSTATEMENT OF EVICTED TENANTS.
Proceedings have been instituted under the provisions of the Land Act, 1923, for the acquisition of the lands of Rathcore on the Dias Estate, and they were published in a Provisional List of lands which, if not excluded in consequence of a valid objection, will become vested in the Land Commission on the appointed day.
Four applications from persons stating they were the representatives of tenants who had been evicted from the estate in 1864, were received by the Estates Commissioners.
