Vol. 25 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - FISH-CURING FACILITIES AT CASTLETOWNBERE.

asked the Minister for Fisheries whether he is aware that the facilities for fish-curing available on the pier at Castletownbere are entirely inadequate and unsuitable; and whether he is prepared to assist a proposal to obtain better facilities for such curing by a grant for a suitable extension.

I am aware that there are ample facilities for fish-curing at Castletownbere apart from the pier, which was never intended to be used for that purpose. I am consequently unable to provide assistance towards cost of extending that pier.
