CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION, 1926.

asked the Minister for Finance whether William Patrick Gillen, Rosses Point. Co. Sligo, was placed 27th in order of merit out of 800 candidates who sat for the Civil Service examination held in July, 1926; whether he can state the number of candidates who received appointments as the result of that examination, and the reason why the aforementioned William Patrick Gillen received no appointment.

The candidate referred to secured 257th, not 27th, place at the open competition for posts as clerical officers held in July, 1926. The last candidate declared successful as the result of this examination obtained 83rd place.
