Vol. 27 No. 1

CEISTEANNA—QUESTIONS. ORAL ANSWERS. - A KERRY LIMEKILN.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state whether the investigations respecting the limekiln at Blackwater, Co. Kerry, are yet completed, and, if so, if he will state, as a result of these investigations, whether it is intended to resume the burning of lime in this kiln.

The limekiln in question at Blackwater, which the Land Commission understand has not been used since 1885, was portion of a property purchased by the Congested Districts Board in 1915. The Congested Districts Board was unable to make any arrangements for the working of the kiln. The Land Commission are not in a position to resume lime burning in the kiln but they are endeavouring to make arrangements for its disposal so that it may be utilised.
