Vol. 29 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Suggested Postal Economies.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he has considered as an alternative to the curtailment of postal services in the rural areas resulting in the dismissal of 700 postmen, the reduction or withdrawal of the cost of living bonus on salaries of £350 and upwards, in the Department of Posts and Telegraphs, which would give the same saving without any curtailment of services or consequent unemployment.

The answer is in the negative.
