The audit of the commercial accounts of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs, carried out under the Exchequer and Audit Departments Act, 1921, has been completed for the year 1926-27, and the accounts will be published in due course. The examination of the commercial accounts for the year 1927-28 is at present in progress, and the accounts for the year 1928-29 are not due for submission for audit until 30th November next. There has been no avoidable delay, but the pressure of other work held up the examination of these accounts for some time.
