Written Answers. - Kilmaine Lands (Co. Mayo).

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he is aware that the Irish Land Commission owes the sum of £51 13s. 9d. for poor rates due on the lands taken over from the Kilmaine Farm Society; that the rate collector, Mr. Anthony O'Grady, Kildun, Neale Post Office, Ballinrobe, has sent on the demand notes and made several applications to the Land Commission for payment, and if he will state the cause of delay in remitting the amount due.

The Land Commission are not liable for the rates referred to.

Agreements to repurchase have been signed by the allottees herein, and the allottees have been put into occupation as from 1st November last. Both the members of the society and the rate collector have been informed that the purchasers are liable for payments of the rates referred to in attached question.
